Bardya Casémi
Of French and Swiss nationality, Bardya was born in Iran in 1973, and arrived in France at the age of 6, with his parents and younger brother. His father, a graduate of the Ecole Navale, had served as an officer in the Shah of Iran's navy, before joining a French naval equipment company based in Cherbourg. His mother was a nurse at the military hospital in Tehran.
After graduating from ESCE Paris in 1995, Bardya decided to do his military service as an officer. He supervised conscripts at the Ecole des Fusiliers Marins in Lorient. At the age of 23, he learned and practiced the fundamentals of leadership, in contact with a very heterogeneous population. He imbibed strong values: exemplarity, rigor, discipline, self-sacrifice, surpassing oneself, humility, but also commitment and team spirit.
His first job was with CHUBB insurance in London in '97, right next door to Lloyd's. Ships, containers, assessing the risks involved in transporting a power plant or a water treatment plant are all part of his daily routine. Bardya consolidates his knowledge and know-how through human contact: New York, Buenos Aires, São Paulo. He was promoted and transferred to the Santiago de Chile-based subsidiary as marine and transport underwriter. A few years later, Bardya took charge of business development in Dubai for International SOS.
